This plant is very common in most of the sugar-colonies; it grows by a very branched stalk, and rises generally to the height of eighteen or twenty inches. The whole plant, especially the tender shoots at the top are frequently used in diluting and pectoral infusions, and may deservedly be considered as an excellent vulnerary.
