Sutrasthanam, ch. XLVI: the lines on Kustumvari (coriander seed)

Sushruta; edited and translated by Kaviraj Kunja Lal Bhishagratna, pp. 511–512. Transcribed from the page image on September 25, 2026, as printed.

Raw or undried Kustumvari (coriander seeds) is sweet, aromatic and pleasant, while in its dried state it is sweet in digestion, acts as a demulcent, allays thirst, and alleviates the burning sensation of the skin. It has a slightly bitter and pungent taste, tends to subdue the deranged humours of the body and purifies its internal channels.

Only the section named in the title is transcribed; the chapter continues on either side of it. Bold names in the book are plain here.
